Christmas in Kentucky

We had a great Christmas. We missed not being with family but it was nice to spend some much needed time together with our little family. We decorated sugar cookies for Santa and listened to lots of Christmas music.
Read lots of Christmas books.
Opened tons of presents.
Grandma Tracy made them both the cutest PJs.

Kasen was especially excited for Santa's arrival. They had a great Christmas morning.
We decorated and redecorated the Christmas tree because our little Miss Addie loved to play with it. I hope you all had as great of a Christmas as we did!

Trip to Montana and Thanksgiving

After my mom came to visit us we flew home with her. We had a great couple weeks and Thanksgiving with the family. We even got to see Great Grandma and Grandpa Hobbs. Our sweet little Addie started to walk while we were home! A little late but she is getting better by the day.
The whole family was able to make it for the Holiday weekend. It was great to see Jon and Ashley and Kasen was so happy to be reunited with his cousins. It really is sad when we come back to Kentucky because Kasen LOVES his cousins. He is still asking to play with them. Maybe someday they will be able to live closer.
I am such a bad photographer! This is the only picture I have on Thanksgiving.

Granpa just built a chicken coop. It has one side with baby chicks, and the other side has the hens. Kasen has a blast collecting eggs.

The chickens scared Kasen a little bit. They were pretty friendly and peck at you a little bit, but he stilled begged to see them every day. They had a love hate relationship. We had a great visit and miss all of them already. I just wish that we lived closer. Thanks for the great couple weeks!

The Zoo with Grandma

My mom came to visit in November while Kyle was missing in action. Kyle was gone the entire month of November interviewing at 14 different places. We had a lot of fun while my mom was here. We went to the zoo, went shopping, and went out to eat. It was a nice and relaxing weekend. She even got to catch Kasen's primary program ( Kasen has been in Sunbeams since he was 2 because they have no Nursery in our Branch).

Gatlinburg

The beginning of November I had the opportunity to go on a little get away with some of my great friends to Gatlinburg, TN. The husbands were all busy with school and work. Kyle was out of town interviewing, so my wonderful friend, Brinn, booked her mom's time share in Gatlinburg. There was four moms and nine kids 6 and under. It was very busy, but we really had so much fun. It was a great break from being home alone all the time. We had some great girl time when the kids were all tucked in bed. I am really disappointed that I never took a picture of all the moms.

It was raining most of our trip but we were able to get out one day and do some hiking. It was gorgeous!

Red River Gorge

This post is going back in time a couple months ago. I have been a horrible blogger and now I am going to try and play catch up. Before Kyle started his crazy interviewing schedule we spent our last weekend at the Gorge. It was beautiful! They have a natural bridge that we hiked too and it was amazing.
I had not anticipated that that hike would be straight up hill which made carrying kids on our backs a little bit more challenging! It was a good butt and thigh work out:)
On our way way up to the natural bridge.
This was on the other side of the bridge. The sun was shining so it is hard to see the bridge behind us. I am going to miss the fall colors on this side of the country.

Fall Festivities

Like usual I have my pictures in the wrong order. These two little ones are impossible to take pictures of. Sadly this is the best picture of I could get. This was the finished pumpkin carving product. I just love Addie's piggie tails. I think she looks so grown up.
It would not be Halloween if we did not go pumpkin picking at Huber Farm. Kasen had fun getting pulled to the pumpkin patch.
Patiently waiting to carve these pumpkins.
In the pumpkin patch.

Just a random picture of Addie playing at the playground of our Zoo. I will be posting Halloween pictures soon. I am just behind as always! Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

A quick update

Why does it seem like the older you get the faster time goes by. I can't believe it has already been a month since my last post! We have been enjoying Kyle's senior year. This last week we went to Louisville's annual Boo at the ZOO. It was sad to think it was out last Boo at the ZOO. The Louisville Zoo decorates the entire place with Halloween decorations. Each area has a different theme. They have Shrek's swamp, Pirates of the Caribbean boat, the Disney princesses, and of course Superheros. They have booths set up with all the Different characters and you trick or treat. This year Kasen loved it! He has been begging to go back to the Zoo and get candy.
I think I picked the wrong costume for Addie. Everyone thought she was a boy:) I was just worried about her being cold.
Kyle had his first Oral Surgery Interview in Iowa City. While he was interviewing I accidentally stumbled into a Children's Museum. It was no Tree House Museum in Ogden, but the kids still had a good time.
The last couple weeks have been crazy. Kyle has gotten 15 interviews so far. We never anticipated that he would get so many. So we could end up anywhere from Boston to Seattle. We will see:)
